Armando Rotondi (Director, Script Author, Project Coordinator) Armando Rotondi is a theatre practitioner, writer, playwright and academic. As a practitioner, Armando is author of several staged and published plays and narrative. As a playwright and director, he is interested in political and documentary theatre, audio and digital performance, alternative theatre practice, micro-storytelling, post-dramatic, and live arts. Examples of this theatre are his monologue “L’accusa” (2016, then published in 2020), dedicated to the end of the Ceausescu’s regime, or other work dedicated to the Porrajimos or the digital performance “This Other Thing” that are part of a wider project to give voices to the unknown or underestimated drama of the history. Through the years, Armando has worked with international artists such as: Andy Arnold, Jasmin Vardimon, Guy Bar-Amotz, Giovanni Meola, Esteve Soler, Lorand Janos, Andrew McKinnon, Drew Mulligan, Trevor Carlson, Grigore Gonta, Marc Chornets. He is a founding member of INIT – International Network of Italian Theatre, and a member of the EASTAP – European Association for the Study of Theatre and Performance. Academically, after a BA at the University of Naples “Federico II” and an MA at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, he achieved his PhD at the University of Strathclyde, under the supervision of Joseph Farrell, in 2012. He is currently Associate Professor in Performance and Story-Telling and Director of the MA Programme in Acting at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. He has worked at the Universities of Strathclyde (UK), Naples “Federico II” and “L’Orientale” (Italy), Verona (Italy), Torun (Poland), Bucharest (Romania), Bratislava (Slovakia). Mirko Ettore D’Agostino (Director, Muisc Score Sound Design) Mirko Ettore D’Agostino is an Italian scholar, sound artist, composer, music producer, drummer and mastering engineer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Music Composition and a Master’s degree in Digital Audio-Visual Composition from the Conservatory “Licinio Refice” in Frosinone, and a PhD in Sonic Arts from the Centre for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) of the Istanbul Technical University. As sound artist and composer, his artistic output includes acousmatic and experimental electronic music, EDM, movie soundtracks, multimedia works and sound design for theatre and TV. His works have been presented and performed in national and international festivals and conferences including the Toronto International Electroacoustic Symposium, Forum Wallis Ars Electronica, MAtera INtermedia and Muestra Internacional de Música Electroacústica y Video Mapping. As producer, drummer and mastering engineer, he has worked on numerous and various projects for international artists and for renowned companies in the music industry such as Sony. He is currently Programme Leader of the BA in Popular Music at the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. He is a co-author of Volume I and II of Laboratorio di Tecnologie Musicali, a series of books specifically designed for music technology courses in conservatories, universities and music schools. Freya Treutmann (Reader/Performer) Freya Treutmann is an actress, performer and writer from Berlin, Germany. She graduated with Distinction with a Master Degree in Acting and Theatre, rewarded by Liverpool John Moores University. Having a background also in communication-, media- and language studies from Freie Universität Berlin, Freya aims at experimenting with forms and structures of writing and performing, challenging and breaking linear and one-dimensional ways of storytelling. Her performances aim to connect movement and text in a specific way, investigating the possibilities of creating meaning. She performed her own plays “5475 Scratches” (formerly under the title “Scratch – A Lifetime”) and “Evidence of codes” as an artist in residency at Charioteer Theatre Company in Edinburgh in and for the 10th Online Performance Art Festival. In 2019 she performed “5475 Scratches” at the International Theatre Festival OFF SYTUACJE in Poznán, Poland. She was a co-author of the publication of a theatre adaptation of Lev Tolstoy’s “The Forged Coupon” and a directing assistant for Compagnie StadTheater. Apart from writing, creating and performing her own projects, Freya works as an actress, dancer and singer for various productions for film, TV and on stage. She performed as a puppeteer in an adaptation on Sophocle’s “Ajax” in “Das Raubkunstkabinett” in Ackerstadtpalast Berlin. Her international credits as a performer include: “Indentity – A Collaborative Project”, directed by Laura Pasetti; “Far Away” by Caryll Churchill, directed by Drew Mulligan; “A Forged Coupon” adapted from Lev Tolstoy, directed by Andrew McKinnon; “Clouds” by Aristophanes, directed by Oscar Valsecchi; “A Child in Time” adapted from the novel by Ian McEwan, directed by Valentina Temussi; “Love can be cruel” written and directed by Giovanni Meola; “Beneath the Gaze” by Joshua Sailo.
