Biografie:
Dani García Spanish filmmaker based in Amsterdam. He has directed several documentary short and medium-length films broadcasted on public television in Spain and presented at several international festivals (Visions du Réel, Documenta Madrid, L’Alternativa Barcelona, Transcinema Lima, Iberodocs Edinburgh, etc.). In 2011 he travelled for the first time to Texas and Louisiana to film the documentary “Christmas in Icaria”. He would return in 2016, this time to New Mexico and along the Mexican border with Texas and Arizona to produce the photography publication “Back to Barataria” with photographer Edgar Melo. His three latest projects are also his first adventures in the field of sound: a podcast, an interactive installation and a piece of radio art. “Antennas to Heaven” is a podcast series of stories about musical revelations. “What you humans call North” is a sound installation commissioned by the Ambassade van de Noord Zee presented in Nemo De Studio (Amsterdam) and “Night ballad for the Rio Grande” is his first collaboration with musician David Dorado. Next to his work with these bands and others such as Wolf Saxon and Ghost Number, he collaborates frequently on audiovisual and interdisciplinary projects such as Xarnera, with the poet Laia Claver, the documentary "El cost de la fruita" or the film production company La Selva. As a sound artist, he has made sound collages and sound fiction pieces for Radio ZZ and a podcast for the magazine Bcn Mes. He has 15 years of experience in the production and design of audiovisual live acts including work with 35 and 16 mm film projection for Zumzeig Cinema and Filmoteca de Catalunya and new digital technologies as video mapping and multi-projection for festivals as Visualbrasil.
